Clients Under 18 Years
Along with our work with adult clients, we also provide therapy services to ‘mature minors’ (late adolescent clients). The minimum age for our service is 16 years, and for all adolescent clients our assessment process will determine whether our service is appropriate. If we believe a different type of therapy is more suitable, the therapist will provide that recommendation as part of the assessment process.
We require active involvement from Parents / Guardians in therapy for under 18 clients, including attendance at the initial assessment session, and also for part of subsequent sessions (as negotiated between the client, their support people, and the therapist). We are also able to provide additional therapeutic support if required for Parents / Guardians to assist them to support their loved one (nb. this would be with a separate therapist to the one seeing your child, in order to protect the therapeutic relationship).
Please see below our Communication Policy for Parents / Guardians of clients under 18 years.
