Food Facts #5 - Nutrition and Men's Health

‘Food Facts’ is an online monthly series of webinars presented by experienced Dietitians from the Mind Body Well team - all from a non-diet, no-judgement, no-bullshit perspective.

Sessions will focus on nutrition information relevant to various health concerns, and are suitable for anyone who wants to learn about nutrition in a context which is free from weight-loss dieting advice.

Session 5 - Nutrition and Men’s Health

This session will explore:

  • the impact of testosterone levels on mens health

  • common causes and management of low testosterone levels

  • how testosterone levels vary across the lifespan, and signs of low testosterone

  • how changes to diet and exercise can help improve testosterone levels for people with secondary hypogonadism

Testosterone is the hormone responsible for everything we typically associate with masculinity – body hair, deeper voice, and a more muscular build. Testosterone levels peak during puberty and teenage years then slowly decrease from ~40y old. For some men testosterone levels can drop faster or earlier than expected often caused by lifestyle factors or illness. This webinar will explore common causes and management options for low testosterone.

Session structure: The webinar will be conducted live on Zoom, with a presentation from the facilitator followed by a live Q&A. You can choose to either participate anonymously with your camera off (writing your questions in the chat box), or with your camera on (asking your questions directly to the facilitator). The choice will be yours.

Prior registration is essential - numbers will be limited.

Cost: $30 (includes live attendance via Zoom - sessions will not be recorded)

Cancellation policy: Full payment is required to register, and the fee is non-refundable

Note: These sessions are introductory and are not intended to replace individual dietetic therapy

A Zoom link will be sent to you 24 hours prior to the Webinar.
